Authorization, processors, tips, and taxes
Card and wallet payments may be processed by third parties such as Stripe or region-specific partners. Your card data is submitted directly to the processor or tokenized through their SDKs; Smart Dining receives tokens and transaction metadata needed to operate the Services.
Processor terms and privacy policies apply in addition to these Payment Terms.
We may authorize your payment method at order or booking time and capture funds when the Restaurant confirms fulfillment or according to the deposit policy you accept.
If an authorization expires before capture, we may request a new authorization to complete the transaction.
Optional tips may be distributed to eligible staff according to the Restaurant’s policies and applicable wage laws. Mandatory service charges may be taxed differently than voluntary gratuities; labels at checkout explain the treatment where required.
Charges are processed in the currency shown unless otherwise disclosed. Your bank may apply conversion fees or decline international transactions.
Smart Dining designs flows so full card numbers are handled by PCI-certified processors. Restaurants using integrated terminals remain responsible for their in-store PCI compliance.
If a payment fails, we may retry according to network rules, request an alternate method, or cancel the order or booking. Outstanding balances may be referred to collection where permitted by law.
